Deric Cheng

Governance Researcher

Deric is a researcher for the Governance Research Program at Convergence. Most recently, he was one of the first engineers at Alchemy, a blockchain infrastructure startup now valued at $10.2 billion. Prior to that, he was a investigatory researcher at Google Hardware, where he conducted software explorations for a next-gen Google Glass and led the engineering and design for the first real-time translation feature for Pixel Buds. On the side, he runs a yearly arts and music festival in Northern California called Solaura. He graduated from Princeton University with a B.S. in Computer Science.
